Who We Are
A Greensboro Tradition
Three generations. One family. Same corner of Greensboro.
Hall Tire & Battery opened its doors in 1960, founded by brothers Frank and John Hall. It started as a humble two-bay shop, and while a lot has changed in Greensboro since then, our phone number and our handshake have stayed exactly the same.
Frank eventually took the reins solo and ran the shop for decades, building a reputation the old-fashioned way: honest work without the upsell, and customers he knew on sight. When his sons Phil and Greg were ready, they stepped in to carry it forward. Phil later took full ownership and kept the lights on with that same steady hand.
Today, Phil's son Josh Hall runs the shop. Three generations of Halls, all working from the same address. And all carrying the same belief: a tire shop should feel like a place you trust, not a place you dread.
What's changed: Our two-bay shop has grown into six bays, and we've added services to keep up with modern vehicles. Today we handle state inspections, brake repairs, wheel alignments, oil changes, battery replacement, and of course tires from trusted brands like Michelin, BFGoodrich, and Bridgestone.
What hasn't changed: We haven't gotten bigger or moved on. Still a small family shop in the same place we started, still treating every customer like a neighbor, because most of them are.
